Hey, my name is Jamie Isa! I’m an ICEA trained birth doula and childbirth educator, working towards my certification. I serve the Central Iowa area, as well as in Eastern Africa.

Before becoming a doula I was so afraid of pregnancy and birth, I was convinced I never wanted to go through it. It wasn’t until I started seeing things online that I realized birth shouldn’t be as intimidating as we make it.

When I got pregnant with my son, my husband and I took a birth course together. As I learned what was happening inside my body, and what would happen later, I wasn’t intimidated. Birth is a natural process that was beautifully designed, and I learned to trust my body. I became a doula and childbirth educator to provide a better understanding of the birth process, so that women can feel confident and capable in their body’s ability. 

I have spent a few years overseas, and watched how they treat birth so different than we do in the West. They have a beautiful trust in their bodies and intuition. Though I believe that birth was beautifully designed, I also am aware that it doesn’t always go so beautifully for everyone. I am here to provide evidence based resources for you, and to support your desires and your choices for your birth.
