What’s a birth doula?
“Women who serve”
Doula, Servant.
The word “doula” originated from a Greek word meaning “slave” or “servant.” As a doula, I’m here to support you during your pregnancy, labor, and early postpartum. I am not a medical professional. My job is to provide a non-medical approach to supporting you physically, emotionally, and by sharing information about the birthing process. I hope to help you feel empowered to make decisions that feel right for your family.
Benefits of a Doula
39% Less likely to have a C-section with continuous doula support during labor.
15% More likely to have a spontaneous vaginal birth, free of unnecessary medical interventions.
31% Less likely to have negative feelings about birth.
38% Less likely to have poor immediate health evaluation of baby
There is no evidence of any negative effects of having a doula.

Medical procedures of any kind, at any time.

Speak to care providers for you. My job is to help you feel confident in yourself and your choices!
Replace your partner. I’m an addition to your birth team, not to replace your support partner.
